Human Resources Specialist (Employee & Labor Relations)
The purpose of this position is to provide advisory and technical services in the area of employee/labor relations for the VA Montana Health Care System.
At the full performance level, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Assisting managers in conducting pertinent inquires on grievances, appeals, and proposed adverse actions.
Serving as an impartial investigator of employee complaints on management policies and working conditions.
Providing advice and guidance to supervisors on personnel policy, labor relations activities, and working conditions.
Participating in the development of plans, policies, and procedures for local administration of the labor relations program as it relates to bargaining units, elections,and contract negotiations.
Providing advice to management on employee relations, discipline, adverse actions,grievances, performance management and recognition, employee counseling, and related functions.
